OUR SUCCESS - THE PORTABLE SEAT
We have successfully created and fulfilled several kickstarter and IndieGoGo projects. Since we launched Sitpack back in Oct. 2014 - we’ve honed our skills and vastly improved our production and sourcing network to bring you a portable seat of the highest quality.
Design Awards are expensive, so we’ve only got three. We’re much more interested in your appreciation of what we are doing.
Last year on a trip to Rome, I found by the third day that my "museum legs" hurt so badly I couldn't enjoy the rest of my trip. I researched options and found the SitPack. I got one before my trip to Florence and it is a game changer. It is easy and discreet to set up and take down. I have been allowed to take it into about 12 museums and 20 churches so far, without any issues (though I am sometimes asked to pay careful attention so I don't hit anything). I can now sit and enjoy each work of art for extended periods of time. I recommend the carrying pack which doubles as a cushion. However we quickly found that sometimes, when we had it slung over our shoulder with the seat in the T-Position, the seat would fall down from the carry pack. We resolved this by getting 2 black hair elastics (smaller than a scrunchie but larger than a ponytail hair elastic). I recommend it highly.
Update: I removed a negative, there IS a set of alignment lines on each section. These lines weren't mentioned in any written materials but are clearly visible on each section.
After travelling a lot before COVID19 hit, I purchased a folding cane/seat while in the UK that has been a back saver dozens of times. Now, this improved version of the Sitpack kickstarter has it beat! If you are considering this, get the case that turns into a cushion! The kit here includes the case and an extra two "feet" that do wear out over time.
This Sitpack 2.0 folds smaller than any competitor and with the carrying case used as padding fits my buns just like my ergo bike seat! The Sitpack Zen with its sling seat may fit better for some people - I prefer the easily repositioned feel of the Sitpack 2.0. A feature of both this seat and the ergo bike seat is the need to readjust your buns just a bit from time to time. For me this increases the comfort of the seat!
Here are my usual pros and cons, first the pros:
+ Folds into a package about the size of a 20 ounce/0.5L soda can
+ the carrying case/cushion fits well and stays put, along with helping your buns do the same
+ the "foot" is great on any hard surface, even irregular stone surfaces
+ the strap with the case is essential if you aren't carrying a backpack or other case to stow the Sitpack
- really wish there were another type of "foot" that worked better on rugs and other soft flooring
- for many who have tried this seat, especially those with wider buns than mine, the surface is too small for comfort; a padding option that provides more of a seat surface could fix this
- had to use two Velcro straps to hold the seat/case on when in the open position
Can't believe such a comfortable seating option comes in such a small package. Get the Sitpack 2.0 WITH the carrying case and you'll see what I mean!
Handy yet practical solution to keep relaxing while on the move!
I'm so so so happy about this stool. I can't stand in places for very long especially in heat, and we're visiting Rome (lots of lines in 96+ degree weather). So relieved to have this stool which is (fairly) comfortable, easy to carry, and VERY fast to setup. My favourite feature is that I don't need to sit near the ground the way you'd need to in a camping chair - it'll be more like a lean which is perfect for me. So grateful for this!!
Thank you for the innovative design!
